Uzbekistan visa requirements
Updated May 2026 · Always confirm on official portals before you fly
- Check your passport. The rule depends on your country. Open the official e-Visa site before you buy flights.
- Plan the usual first trip. Tashkent, then Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. Trains sell out in April–May and September–October.
- Know who to call. In Uzbekistan, 1173 is the free 24-hour tourism hotline. Tour prices on this site are quotes. You do not pay here.
Tourist visa and visit visa
A short holiday is usually a visa-free stay or an e-Visa. A tourist visa or visit visa is only needed when your passport is not on the visa-free list. The list changes, so check e-visa.gov.uz before you book flights.
Official e-Visa portal
Use e-visa.gov.uz for the latest application rules, processing details, and current fees.
On arrival
Migration card (often electronic). Registration: hotels register guests; homestays — ask host. Keep entry stamp until departure.
Before you land — checklist
- Passport valid 6+ months
- Return/onward ticket (sometimes checked)
- Travel insurance recommended
- Hotel or host address for registration
- Download our free app — offline maps, emergency 1173 hotline
